Sting 2009 celebrates 26 years of top quality Reggae artistry. As one of the longest running annual entertainment events in the Region, virtually all major artistes have touched the Sting stage. The show started with a modest crowd at Cinema II in New Kingston and later grew to the National Stadium; a venue that saw showdowns with mega stars such as Super Cat, Shabba Ranks and Ninja Man.
Based on its popularity, Sting moved to a new venue to accommodate its following: 40,000 patrons strong. JAMWORLD Entertainment Center in Portmore was made the official home of the show as a result. Fans make the annual trip from all across the world at Christmas to be a part of the spectacle.
