For the third consecutive year, Flava Squad Entertainment will be staging the increasing popular Reggae concert, HYPE (2K9) in Black River, St. Elizabeth. This year’s show however will be staged in April as opposed to the regular August date.

HYPE has grown exponentially since it first staging in 2007 to becoming a fixture on the local entertainment calendar with patrons from Jamaica and overseas looking to book tickets early. HYPE 2K9 will be headlined by top Jamaican acts such as Sizzla, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, Busy Signal, Ninja Man and Laden.

In addition to these top acts, there will be support from approximately twenty five other rising superstars who are set to rock Independence Park on April 4.

This year, the promoters will be adding value to the show as they will be including a Family Fun Day before the main event. The Fun Day will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will have the usual clowns, bounce-a-bout, singing and dance contest as well as a football competition with a total pool of forty thousand dollars ($40,000). During this period, acts such as Romaine Virgo, Nickesha Barnes, Mye Laurel and D- Flexx will entertain the audience.

With all that’s promised, this should be the best HYPE event to date.
